- Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery(MB.Ch.B)
The MB.Ch.B is a five year Programme designed to produce doctors with appropriate competencies to address the health needs of the individual, family and the community locally, nationally, regionally and globally.
The Programme curriculum is blended to provide learning experiences at the core of which will be student centered learning, community based medical education among others. It is designed to address competencies that have not been traditionally taught, particularly professionalism and human rights, leadership and management, and communication and interpersonal skills. It also focuses on relevant areas of biomedical sciences and clinical disciplines.
2. BSc in Nursing Science(BNS)
The Bachelor of Nursing Science (BNS) is a four-year degree programme. It is intended to develop competent nurses able to utilize evidence-based scientific knowledge and practice safely and effectively. In the formative years, it has on-site training facilities for the basic biomedical Science at the main University campus.
This programme is specifically designed to provide students with a broad set of skills that encompass the disciplines of Nursing. It is intended to produce graduate nurses who will work as members of health teams to provide preventive, curative and rehabilitative care, leadership, case management, health promotion and also to practice across a variety of inpatient, outpatient settings as well as in research activities.
The central focus of this programme is to develop competence in primary health care, nursing, midwifery, reproductive health, research and administration. The programme is based on appropriate and strong foundations in basic Science, clinical judgement and skills necessary for management of common medical conditions.
